Engaging Historically Black Colleges and Universities in HIV Prevention
Research shows that African American students live with HIV more commonly than their primarily Caucasian counterparts. Historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) educate millions of learners, positioning these entities to enact greater strategies to counter HIV acquisition and spread. This workshop describes an innovative partnership to address such factors at HBCUs.

Integrating Buprenorphine Therapy Into HIV Primary Care Settings
This report highlights projects found to offer highly effective (and replicable) approaches to integrating buprenorphine-based medication-assisted treatment into HIV/AIDS primary care. Chapters outline the processes programs need to put in place, including meeting DATA 2000 regulatory requirements, achieving institutional buy-in, implementing staff training requirements, and evaluating processes and outcomes.

Outcomes of a Transitional Care Coordination Intervention Linking People with HIV in Jails to Community HIV Care and Services
Three sites were funded in 2016 as part of Special Projects of National Significance Dissemination of Evidence-Informed Interventions initiative to implement an evidence-informed intervention designed to link people with HIV in jail to community HIV care using a transitional care coordinator. Presenters will discuss the barriers and facilitators related to linking to care and achieving and maintaining viral suppression post-release.

Transgender Women Engagement and Entry to Care (T.W.E.E.T): E2i
T.W.E.E.T. aims to engage transgender women in HIV care by combining weekly peer-based education and discussion groups, leadership training, community building, and the provision of supportive services. Three sites implemented T.W.E.E.T. as part of E2i, an initiative funded by the RWHAP Part F SPNS program from 2017–2021. Hepatitis C Screening and Treatment Expansion
The HIV clinic at Washington University integrated comprehensive hepatitis C virus (HCV) screening and treatment into its care model. Chronic HCV is a “silent” infection as it damages the liver over time, often without symptoms. Early treatment of HCV is particularly important among people with HIV, as HIV accelerates HCV’s progression. Of the 1,711 clients served at the clinic each year, 174 had a detectable HCV viral load. ESCALATE capacita y empodera a participantes para reconocer y abordar el estigma del VIH dentro de cada nivel del programa Ryan White de VIH/SIDA (RWHAP, por sus siglas en inglés). ESCALATE contará con la participación de equipos de reducción del estigma (un mínimo de dos equipos participantes) dentro de las 57 jurisdicciones identificadas en la iniciativa Terminar con la epidemia de VIH: un plan para Estados Unidos (EHE, por sus siglas en inglés) con un enfoque particular en la reducción del estigma en las personas transgénero o de género no binario y hombres que tienen sexo con hombres. El programa también se enfocará en miembres de comunidades Negra/Africana Americana, latinx, comunidades india americanas y nativas de Alaska.
