Leveraging the Housing Service System through Planning and Coordination

Event Date: Tuesday, January 30, 2018 - 2:00pm to 3:30pm EST

Event Type: Training/Technical Assistance Event

In 2016, 8.8% of Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) clients had temporary housing and 5.2% had unstable housing situations. People living with HIV (PLWH) utilizing RWHAP services with unstable housing consistently have lower viral suppression rates than those with temporary or stable housing.

In this webinar, HRSA’s HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB), the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD), Office of HIV Housing (OHH), the National AIDS Housing Coalition (NAHC) and the National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD) will present information to RWHAP recipients designed to increase understanding and leveraging of the existing housing service system to better serve PLWH experiencing unstable housing.  Participants will learn about the impact of unstable housing on PLWH, HUD programs that serve low-income individuals and families, and the ways in which RWHAP recipients can engage in housing planning processes.
