2011 STD Surveillance Report

This report from CDC summarizes national data through 2011 on reported cases in the U.S. for chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis. Highlights include:

  • Primary and secondary syphilis cases are on the rise among gay and other men who have sex with men, accounting for over 70 percent of all infections.
  • Numbers and rates of chlamydia and gonorrhea infection are greatest among the 15-24 age set.
