Online calculators are available to help individuals and families estimate the cost of health insurance coverage.

Calculators typically ask you to enter your income and family size. In return, you will get an estimate of the cost of coverage, usually the monthly premium and/or the tax credit and subsidy you might be eligible to receive based on your income. ACA Marketplace websites that are fully functional will calculate MAGI (Modified Adjusted Gross Income), which is the basis for determining eligibility for Medicaid and private insurance subsidies.

Calculators from HealthCare.Gov and State Websites

HealthCare.Gov provides cost estimates for states not running their own Marketplaces. For states managing their own Marketplaces, HealthCare.Gov will link users to websites in these states and their cost calculators.
